Aug 10, 2015 7:31 AM in response to romance fanby Manwholivesontinylake,I was, strike that, still am ****** about the new itunes radio. I did find a work around for creating new stations though, you can ask siri to make a radio station based on a song. Yes, your old stations are probably gone, but you can remake them from scratch haha.

Aug 16, 2015 6:01 AM in response to Claydustby A Museman,I think the reason is obvious, but it would be interesting to hear Apple's official response. I have a serious complaint with the iTunes version in OS X 10.10.x in that the quality of the D to A conversion on my Mac Pro for internet radio has gone from excellent to ***** in one swell foop. Come on, Apple, stop playing coercive games with your loyal users. I have no interest in Apple Radio and never will. If you don't fix this I will buy other gear to do the job, and use iTunes only for managing my iPad and iPhone.

Aug 16, 2015 10:38 AM in response to A Musemanby deggie,I'm not sure what the "obvious" reason is and Apple isn't going to give any response. All of my previous stations are still there but as I said previously they didn't work that well anyway. There is nothing in the new iTunes that what cause a problem with the DAC and if there was one it would be for all music not just internet radio. Sounds fine on all 3 of my computers. You might as well start buying your other gear.

Aug 16, 2015 11:21 AM in response to deggieby A Museman,Degge, don't be so smug. It is not beneath Apple to manipulate the market, though they have attempted to take advantage of their customers far less frequently than many of the other players.
Regarding the DAC, it would indeed be easy to to dumb it down based on the chosen source. Perhaps you should brush up on what makes a musical sounding DAC. The quality of the DAC for Internet radio has really taken a nose dive in 10.10.x. Since that is all I listen to on my computer I can't comment on whether it is true across the board for all sources.
Last, I will accept that YOU can't hear the difference, but you are a fool if you believe you are the last word on what I can hear.

Aug 16, 2015 11:31 AM in response to A Musemanby deggie,I'm not sure what I am being "smug" about. You are the one that said it was "obvious". I have all my previous stations I set up but I quit doing them long before Apple Music and Beats Radio 1 came around (not Apple Radio really). I played with all the various settings but it really didn't accomplish much. Unless you were paying for Apple Match, which took out the commercials (there never were many) it was free anyway.
As to the DAC you don't appear to know what you are referring to. While Apple could be streaming at a lower bitrate (they are using the same rate as they did before but lower than Beats Music but they have switched to MP3) they cannot manipulate the DAC which is set in firmware on the computer. I don't use the internal DAC on my Mac Pro, I've added an external unit for better sound but I pulled it out of the circuit just to compare the three machines using the internal hardware. If it has taken a nose dive on your computer perhaps you should get your computer serviced or reload the OS. But I can detect no change on mine even with the external DAC. If I listened to more classical music I probably could hear the difference between AAC and MP3 but it would be slight at any rate.

Sep 11, 2015 1:20 PM in response to D Spiessby Gigabitten,As an apple user since 1984, it's been increasingly frustrating when they change (ruins) a good thing but never really tell you how to find/fix the issue. After some digging, i did find a solution, which is pretty simple. Works for iTunes on macs, phones and tablets.

It worked perfectly. I wish i knew about it before spending time digging around (and almost reinstalling version 12.1)

Sep 21, 2015 7:23 PM in response to paulmanacby NeoGothNerd,How do you revert to a older edition of iTunes? (ex 12 or 12.1) That'd be helpful for me, because I hate this system not with 12.2 and 12.3

Sep 26, 2015 9:48 AM in response to romance fanby SeanStL,I Hope there is a lawsuit for those of us that paid for Radio through match, only to have our saved stations no longer accessible. This was a main feature of this service. Now I have to look to a non-Apple service that I trust will not change paid for services for the worse. Using "recently played" is not acceptable and does not include all stations. It was likely an accident by Apple leaving them there.

Oct 7, 2015 10:49 AM in response to romance fanby redapemusic35,Disappointing. On the bright side, maybe I could subscribe to Apple music and then when they decide to pull the plug I'll just toss my hard earned money to whatever debacle they throw in my face next.

Oct 7, 2015 10:55 AM in response to redapemusic35by redapemusic35,My stations are now back. Wonder what changed?
-
Oct 12, 2015 4:00 PM in response to redapemusic35by Marc Hawkins1,My stations are there - but I don't see any way to edit the station.
Before I was able to add addition artists to a station to customize it. I don't see any way to do that.
I can use the star in the upper corner, but that is about it.
Also, Im pretty sure I created stations based off of musicians or songs I did not even own before (maybe Im wrong about that).

Nov 3, 2015 10:57 PM in response to romance fanby aldousd666,That settles it then. I have been trying to decide between iTunes Music, and Spotify. I'm definitely going Spotify. They let me create stations based on preferences and suggest new songs for me with the Music Genome stuff. I can't handle losing my carefully curated stations where I made such careful effort to star ones I liked and reject ones I didn't. I NEED that feature. That's why I want to pay for a music service. If you, Apple, can't provide it, I'll go to spotify. Later.

Jan 9, 2016 8:21 AM in response to romance fanby emanuelebellini,So if radio stations are gone, let's switch to some other service for listening to them. It's bad news they've been dropped from iTunes, it was an awesome feature.

Feb 10, 2016 12:42 PM in response to Brett Lby svrolyk,False. Clicking on "Start Station" DOES NOT PRODUCE ANY RESULTS, OTHER THAN A 500MS SCREEN BLIP. NO SOUND. NO INDICATION THAT ANYTHING IS PLAYING.
VERY VERY LAME, SIR. DO YOUR RESEARCH BEFORE POSTING THINGS LIKE THIS.
