after updating IOS 8.4 July 5,2015, my IPAD 2 does not function as usual. Cannot get my email by clicking on the MAIL icon at the bottom of the screen.

After updating IOS 8.4 software on my IPAD2, I cannot get my email by clicking on the MAIL icon at the bottom of the screen anymore, why? When I click on the icon I get a screen that shows the outline of the page but no mail, then the screen goes black, then returns to the app screen.

I have a Blank screen template where Mail used to show my accounts, now nothing other than the lines and four blue icons on the top right (none of which respond).

The iPad has had a reboot and I have deleted my main mail account and switched off my iCloud me.com account (should I delete this?). The iPad has been updated to IOS V8.4 and I seem to have followed all the correct instructions, but all in vain - no Mail showing!!


Any other ideas would be appreciated, (should I restore to original settings and then perform a "restore Back-up" from my MacBook perhaps? 😟 😠

You could try another email client. microsoft outlook for ipad.


Re-boot ipad.


Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until a red slider appears, then drag the slider. Then press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the Apple logo appears. page 128 iPad user manual.


force power down if the above give you trouble.

Hold down both the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button. Ten seconds or more. Hold until the Apple logo appears.

Restore to factory settings by loading the latest version of ios that your machine will support:

Do a full backup of your device. Twice is best -- cloud and computer.
