iTunes search is jumping up to 'Show xyz in Music'

It's been bugging me since I upgraded to Yosemite and it is *really* annoying.

Basically, I've got quite a big music library, so scrolling through every single artist to find the song I want to listen to takes ages. So, I'm using iTunes search. Problem is that when in the list of results I see the artist I want to listen to and I press the down arrow on my keyboard to select it, iTunes usually just jumps back to 'Show XYZ in Music'. It happens after around two-three seconds after I pressed the down arrow, as if iTunes was waiting for me to press enter and annoy me even more. Is there any way to turn this off?
