Q: 10.10.4 update BIZARRE... hanging?
10.10.4 update came in... bhaving oddly
The updated restart failed, a manual shutdown failed… had to use Terminal…
2nd restart failed, now finally installing OSX 10.10.4 update “about 9 minutes…”
LOUD BEEP before restart (unusual…)
Shutdown while desktop was reloading!
NOW, a Third auto-reboot “in-progress”…
Progress indicator went to 30%, then a grey-screen, now “completing installation, 10 minutes remaining”…)
Actually – gone to black screen now. No indication it's doing anything (though fans are still running….) ten minutes so far?
I'm going to lunch - if its still running blackscreen when i get back, then I guess I will do a hard powerdown.
This machine cost SEVERAL THOUSAND DOLLARS, and I am not impressed with how badly its run since about Mavericks.
Just about every update has been fraught with difficulty :-(
I am beginning to regret dumping a $1000 into a "Thunderbolt" RAID array... as it's looking like this MAC is going to end up in the dustbin soon
iMac, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3), 32 gigs of RAM, Quad-core i7
