Find My friends app not showing others locations.

My find my friends app is not showing others locations, when I have accepted their requests and they have accepted mine. When it searches for locations it's shows the words "location not available". I Have tried turning my Bluetooth on and using my 4g and/or my wifi. I have also tried shutting the app down and putting it back on.My friends are able to see me however I can not see them. How do I see where they are and do you know why this is happening? ( I have iOS 8 and it's an iPhone 5c)

Check Settings > Privacy > Location Services = "On"

Yes that is all on, would my friends settings need to ben on aswell? Or do they have to be on the app at the time for me to see where they are?

Yes, your friend(s) would have to be willing to share their location, which would be true only if they had Settings > Privacy > Location Services = "On" and Settings > Privacy > Share My Location > Share My Location = "On"

Your friend(s) do(es) not have to be in the app while you are checking.
