My purse has several magnets inside it to hold various pockets closed. Is it safe to carry my iPhone in a purse with several magnets inside it?

You're welcome. Many cases now a days contain magnets. Consider the iPad case from Apple contains magnets, as does the actual case itself. I've used a case in the past that contained a magnet, and never experienced any issues.
