Macbook Pro Etre Check Help

Hello - I have an early 2011 Macbook Pro 15 inch and had recently installed 16MB of RAM and updated to Yosemite and it was running great. I'm not sure if it coincides but I also installed Creative Cloud, but only Acrobat so far, to test. A few days ago, it kept freezing on restart even when I went through all of the resetting of PRAM and SMC etc - so I reinstalled Yosemite. I also ran ClamXav to check for viruses and removed a couple of questionable looking files. I admit I'm no hardware/tech wiz - so can someone help me interpret these EtreCheck results? Thanks!

Can you explain to me what these mean - that were in red? Should I be concerned with them?

It means that you host file has been modified by somebody. Most often it's an attempt to run Adobe software without a license, but there could be other reasons. In the old days it was often used as a means of blocking access to advertisements, but the count would normally be much greater in those cases.

There are detailed instructions for examining and fixing it from the EtreCheck developer @ Fixing a hacked /etc/hosts file.

There are several reasons for Launch Agents to fail, most of which are normal. One possibility is that the software it was used with has since been removed and these are left over. I would not worry too much about it unless you hare having issues with an Adobe application.

That is an obsolete piece of software formerly used by MobileMe and can be safely removed. It's not hurting anything, but you no longer need it.

Hold the <Option/Alt>-key down and select "Library" from the Finder's Go menu. Locate the LaunchAgents folder and drag that file from it to the Trash.

For what it worth Logitech Control Centre is getting old, this may be the newer version you need…

http://support.logitech.com/en_us/software/logitech-control-center-for-macintosh -os-x

I'd check for updates to the Wacom & any other software too.

Your report doesn't state how much free disk space you have if there is not much free space the OS can grind to a halt when it gets low, especially on spinning disks.

Also do you know what the 'questionable looking files' were that you removed? They may make matters worse if they were parts of the OS.
