Is There a Way to Downgrade the Music App?

Hello,

I updated my iPod Touch (can't remember the generation, hope it's not important) to iOS 8.4. It's great, but I feel like I prefer the Music App from iOS 8.3 (besides the logo. That's awesome).

Is there a way to downgrade to the 8.3 Music App? My problems are that:

1. I can't find an easy way to shuffle all of my songs. I have to select a song annd then toggle shuffle from there. Any other way to do this?

2. I'm not really a fan of Apple Radio. Before I could set which categories (Albums, Artists, Songs) on the bottom dock(?) and remove Radio. Now (as far as I can tell), I can't.

3. Speaking of the Categories from before, now I have to manually select them from a list and I can only view one at a time before having to click the list again and switch. I liked the dock(?) before, where the different categories were all on the bottom and I could simply tap on the one I wished to view.

4. I don't know about other people, but I loved the fact that the old Music App told me how long each album and playlist was. I considered it a nice aesthetic.

So if there's any way to revert to that old Music App, that would be great. Thanks!

Hi Kafkakama,

I haven't tried it but problems 2 + 3 should be solved when you open up Settings -> Music and deactivate "Show Apple Music".

My guess is that the features from 1 + 4 are not included in the Music app on iOS 8.4. In this case I would recommend that you give feedback to the developers through apple.com/feedback. I only found a way to start shuffle playback without selecting a certain song first in playlists and albums so far.

Hope this helps at least a bit.
