Why are my unchecked songs no longer "grayed out" in iTunes 12?

In previous versions of iTunes my unchecked songs would be "grayed out", while checked songs would be in black. When I updated to iTunes 12, all songs showed up in black regardless of whether they are checked or unchecked. Is there a way to fix this?
