I got rid of duplicated files. Restarted. Deleted Photos. Deleted almost all media. I cant figure it out
After clearing out some old programs and photos and un-needed iphone backups, ( from what i calculated to be about 200gigs) now I have 60gigs free....

Have you emptied trash? Only then is space allocated for new data.
Download from the Internet OmniDiskSweeper and Grand Perspective (both free) and open them. They will show all of your files and the respective sizes. This should assist you in determining what you have on your MBP and where it is located.

Thanks man. It actually turned out to be Time Machine... had 350gigs of "backup" data. Thanks for the help !
My HD is showing only 72gigs free ( out of 500 )
