I've followed the above steps but printer is showing as idle and will not print. Any ideas?

I'm trying to set up a HP2540 all in one printer with my Mac mini (OS X 10.6.8) After several failed attempts, I followed steps to reset the printIng system but it's still won't print and the printer is showing as idle. It appears to be connected ok and the HP network configuration seems fine. Any ideas?
