Cannot open Boot Camp on iMac

I have Boot Camp installed on my iMac OS 10.6.8 and have been using it successfully for several years to access a Microsoft accounting program. After a lapse of a few months I find that I cannot open Boot Camp.

I startup the iMac in the usual way while pressing the alt/option key but instead of two icons to start either iMac or Boot Camp, I see only the iMac option.

Any suggestions?

iMac, Mac OS X (10.6.8)

I think this is what you were asking for.

I was mistaken in my last message, my internal hard drive has a 2TB capacity, not 1TB.

Actually I do have a second 1 TB drive, but had forgotten since it is dedicated to Time Machine backups.

Sorry about the confusion.

Disk1 is a USB-connected disk. You should disconnect it till we can find your Windows installation.

There is a disk scanning software that I use called Testdisk which we can use to scan your 2TB internal disk and try to locate your Windows partition. http://www.cgsecurity.org/wiki/TestDisk_Step_By_Step . The starting UI looks like http://imgur.com/a/PjmnK .

I suggest we try this tool.

Sorry for the slow response but I have been tied up with another pressing issue.

I see that the second link you sent should allow me to scan and analyze my internal drive for missing partitions etc, and presumably facilitate any necessary repair.

I assume that the first link is intended to describe the procedure to do this, but given that I am in totally uncharted territory it is still not immediately clear to me quite how I do this.

In the happy event of a successful outcome, can I expect that the to original contents of the Bootcamp partition will still be intact?
