What is an iPV6 relay error on the Airport Extreme, and how does one correct this?

MacBook Pro (Retina, 13-inch, Late 2012), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4)

A relay error means that the signal does not know where to go, so it needs some help with directions.


One would try the following for this error:


Open Finder > Applications > Utilities > AirPort Utility

Click on the picture of the AirPort Extreme, then click Edit in the smaller window that appears

Click the Internet tab at the top of the next window

Click the Internet Options button near the bottom of the window


Change the setting for Configure IPv6 to Link Local Only

Click Save

Click Update at the lower right of the window and give the AirPort Extreme a full minute to restart
