Hey all, I'm using my Maschine to make some drum loops in Logic Pro X yet the only input that I can find is "built-in microphone" which means I cant record with my Maschine since it only uses the microphone as an input. What should I do? My MacBook Pro is from this Christmas so its new...whats wrong with my Logic? the correct input I need is "Built-in Input" but thats not available.
Any help would be apreciated 🙂
Logic Pro X, OS X Yosemite (10.10)
Make sure you have selected Built In Input in Logic's prefs > Audio > Devices > Input Device
Click the Apply Changes Button in that window...after selecting the correct input....
See thats the thing...Built in Input isnt an option! It's just not shown. So confused 😟
You have to plug a device into the combined port, before the system sees the port as an input device. This is new on the latest MBP's. And it is confusing.
Not sure how it is for 15 inch MBP though.

The answer appears to lie here..... as it appears there was a hardware spec change for the Christmas 2014/2015 models....
The current Macbook Pro (2015) does not have an audio input jack? Only an headphone jack?
Time to buy a good quality audio interface I suspect.....

I wasn't aware that hardware change had taken place..... and it seems a strange decision to say the least.... but it may be to do with the new chipsets used in those models...
That's just a guess however... I have no idea as to the real reason.

Here we have a company with not one, but two very good audio programs, what will we do next Apple hardware engineers? Remove the audio line input, of course! Saves 15-cents per machine, that's why we give 'em loops and samples.
