Garageband 10.1 iPad no monitor?

After downloading GB 10.1 to my iPad Air 2, my Sonic Port no longer works. It used to be plug n play in BG -- when I had Minotor on, of course. But now Monitor has disappeared from Input Settings. Anybody have a clue what is going on? Interestingly (if it weren't so frustrating), AmpKit no longer works either: even with the Sonic Port in the Lightning slot, it says No Input from the Headphone Jack and there is no way to select any other option. If anybody knows how to fix this situation, I'm all ears! Oh, one other thing: this all started happening shortly after I updated to iOS 8.4 (I then updated GB to 10.1).
