screen jumps to previous page regularly on its own

I have a Mac OS X Version10.6.8, Processor 3.2 GHz Intel Core i3, Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3.

My problem is that the screen will regularly jump to previous page whether I am on Safari or email.

It can do this every few minutes and is obviously very frustrating.

Has anyone got an idea as what I can do or have you had similar problem?
