can't login ichat

can't login ichat

All of a sudden today I can't login into iChat using my gchat information. I'm not getting any error message, I just click on "available" and nothing happens. I'm running 5.0.3 on a macbook pro running 10.6.6

When I try to change the settings and login, a message flashes for like a milisecond and the bottom of the preferences screen that says you can't change preferences while logged in. The frustrating thing is I'm not logged in! I even tried logging out of gmail in my browser completely to see if that made a difference but it does not. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Hi,

So in the iChat > Preferences > Accounts the Google one is not active (Unticked "Enable this Account" box) ?

Can you selected the Server Setting tab.

Does it say it is using SSL ?

IF so Login in to Google and bring up your Account page at the Security section.

Enable "Allow Less Secure Apps" - Google have deemed SSL Logins as Less Secure.
