errors with iTunes 12.2.0.145

I updated to iTunes 12.2.0.145 and now I can't log in to the iTunes store. I keep getting an error that says "iTunes could not connect to the iTunes Store. An unknown error occurred (-3212). Make sure your network connection is active and try again.

Well, I am connected to the internet. I can do anything I want except connect to the iTunes store. I checked my firewall settings to make sure iTunes is allowed for both public and private. Still no luck. Frustrating that every update seems to cause more problems.
