Mac Air Magsafe Adapter Ripped & Battery Servicing Issue

Can someone please help me obtain a replacement power adapter for my Mac Air 13 inch? The cord associated with the magsafe adapter ripped due to strain most likely being caused by wrapping the wire around the loops that pop out from power adapter. Due to this issue my laptop battery also began running into issues and now gives a service battery error. My product is out of warranty but I saw on one of the apple web pages that apple is aware of the issue and a program existed at one point to replace these adapters. The link is below.
