Hello,
I uploaded a large amount of photos to Flickr and created the album and chose it for the screensaver. However only about 30 of them appear. I thought that maybe they hadn't uploaded so I checked Flickr.com and all the photos are there. I also accessed Flickr via the app on Apple TV and they all appear there too ... just not on the screensaver. Any suggestions?

Apple TV only uses a small portion of the flash drive to cache photos for the screensaver, typically it is around 100 but it will also depend on resolution/size etc.

Based on your advice I was actually able to get all my photos up and working now on the slideshow screensaver.
What I did was used Windows Photo Gallery and resized them all to 'large' and then uploaded them all into a new folder in Flickr and then pointed the Apple TV to it (the new folder) and all working like a charm.
