Crossfade not working on 12.2

I have built a 4.5hr playlist for my wedding, and so that it flows nicely I have altered the start and finish times of the songs and also applied the crossfade. This all worked absolutely fine until I updated to the latest version (12.2.0). Now the crossfade no longer works. I can still access the option in the normal way (via preferences) but it just doesnt do anything. I have tried taking it off an putting it back on again with no result. I have also tried reducing/increasing the number of seconds of the fade, again with no affect. Please help, I need this working asap!
