After upgrading to iTunes 12.2 home movies were missing

After I upgraded many, not all, of my home movies disappeared from the library. The movies are still in folder iTunes> iTunes Media> Home Movies but do no appear in the library. Nor can they be added again. I am on an iMac 3.4 i7 running OS X 10.10.4. Any suggestions?

iMac (27-inch Mid 2011), OS X Yosemite (10.10.4), iTunes 12.2

If you can't add them then there is still a good chance they are still in your library which is why they can't be added. You may need to investigate other classifications as they may have lost the "kind" designation which tells iTunes in which major category to put items. I don't use iTunes 12 so I can only make suggestions.
