I am having trouble toggling between several different event storylines under the same library in FCP X. When I try and switch from one event to another the storyline will not appear. Any advice on why this is happening and how to fix this?
How are you toggling? Not sure what you mean by event timeline. Do you mean project timeline or clip timeline?

Event timeline meaning the video that I have created within an event. I have several different events under the same library to keep similar content together. However, when I double click on each different event, the videos that have already been created and edited together are not revealed.
Maybe you could post a screenshot of your browser.
Are you creating projects? - that is what I understand from "videos that have been created and edited together". But often beginners don't create projects and end up editing inside a clip's own timeline.
There is no such thing as an event timeline or event storyline. You create as many projects as you want inside events (you can have more than one, or none at all, in each event). To open a given project timeline, just double-click it in the browser.
In the FCP X hierarchy Projects live in events and events live in libraries. In the browser are projects and clips. Projects have slate icons and may be double-clicked to open. It sounds like you're double-clicking a clip. If you're editing in a clip timeline, you need to right click and choose open in timeline.

I am a certified FCP X pro so I understand the structure hierarchal structure. May not be using the precise terminology.

Despite clicking on any of the various events, nothing appears in the story timeline. I have created sequences in each of the events yet they continue to not appear. This hasn't been a problem until today and Ive been working in this library for nearly a week now.
I see no projects in your screenshot, only clips.
This is what a project looks like - notice the "slate" icon. But as a certified pro, you know this, right?
That is precisely what I am asking about. I have created sequences of the clips in a timeline but I can't seem to get the timeline with my completed projects to load. The files are still on my computer but even by opening the files with the completed projects in them the project timeline won't appear on my browser.
Not clear what you are doing. Did you create *projects* or not?
Maybe you did open a clip's timeline (control-click; open in Timeline) and made your edits there?

I have a library containing 5 different events. Within the events i created sequences from the imported clips. I did this with each event. My problem now is that despite moving from event to event, the sequences do not appear.
Again: were these "sequences" as you call them, actually created as projects?

But you don't have sequences in FCPX, you have projects. And you can only have one project open at a time, which is really weird.
Do you have a Smart Collection for your Library? That blue folder will have a Projects group.
David, by the screenshot above, it looks like the OP is not using 10.2, so no Library Smart Collections.
But, still, it is easy to search inside each event, and there are not too many of them, only five.
You have a compound clip open in the timeline. Select a clip in the event browser does not load the clip in the timeline. You have to right click the clip to open it in the timeline. You don't need to open a clip in the timeline to play. You can play it in the browser.
You can tell the version by that screen shot?
