Mac App Store not working - showing very odd behavior

I'm currently running Mac OS X 10.10.1, and my mac app store is doing a few things that are making it unusable.

Here are the symptoms:

  • The promotional image at the top of the "featured" section won't load (not a huge problem)
  • When I click on "Get" to download an application, nothing happens. The button clicks in and out, but nothing downloads, and I get no error message. Simply nothing.
  • Under the "Store" menu option, my account is shown as logged in. However, when I click on the "Purchases" tab, it says I must logon to view my purchases. I'll click on the "sign in" link it provides, but nothing happens - I am not prompted to sign in.
  • Many other links do not work, include: "Welcome" and "Account" from the "Feature" tab
  • The "Update" tab icon shows that I have 2 updates available, but when I click on it, the page does not load. I am presented with a white screen.
  • When I click on "Redeem", I am prompted to log in (although I am already logged in). If I reenter my username and password and hit enter, I get caught in an endless sign in loop, and it continuously asks me to sign in.
  • Otherwise, I can browse the "Featured," "Charts," and "Category" tabs. I see the apps and view their information. I just can't download them. As I said, when I click to purchase, nothing happens.

I've tried all of the fixes: deleting the cache, resetting the PRAM, fixing certificates... I've spent hours trying to fix this. It seems like it's so broken that I just need a clean install. I'm considering backing up my computer and then reinstall OS X, because it's difficult to not have a working app store. Are there any other solutions?

Launch the Console application in any of the following ways:

☞ Enter the first few letters of its name into a Spotlight search. Select it in the results (it should be at the top.)

☞ In the Finder, select Go ▹ Utilities from the menu bar, or press the key combination shift-command-U. The application is in the folder that opens.

☞ Open LaunchPad and start typing the name.

The title of the Console window should be All Messages. If it isn't, select

SYSTEM LOG QUERIES ▹ All Messages

from the log list on the left. If you don't see that list, select

View ▹ Show Log List

from the menu bar at the top of the screen.

Click the Clear Display icon in the toolbar. Then take an action that isn't working the way you expect. Select any lines that appear in the Console window. Copy them to the Clipboard by pressing the key combination command-C. Paste into a reply to this message by pressing command-V.

The log contains a vast amount of information, almost all of which is irrelevant to solving any particular problem. When posting a log extract, be selective. A few dozen lines are almost always more than enough.

Please don't indiscriminately dump thousands of lines from the log into this discussion.

Please don't post screenshots of log messages—post the text.

Some private information, such as your name or email address, may appear in the log. Anonymize before posting.

When you post the log extract, you might see an error message on the web page: "You have included content in your post that is not permitted," or "The message contains invalid characters." That's a bug in the forum software. Please post the text on Pastebin, then post a link here to the page you created.
