Trouble with Messaging since 10.10.4 OS X update

I updated my Macbook Pro with Retina display (purchased last summer) to the 10.10.4 OS X update very early this morning. I have since realized that my SMS messages are no longer sending from my laptop. They all fail to send. I have made sure that text message forwarding is still turned on my phone and have even turned it off/back on. I have also realized that my iMessages are failing to send as well. Those messages are automatically sent as SMS messages (which also aren't sending). Furthermore, all of the contacts names in the "To:" line are in red. Anyone having this issue or know a fix?
