my hotmail address was hacked and password needed to be changed.
i did so using safari. i then tried to update my new password in iphone settings and the phone is unable to verify the account.
ive changed the password, am using the correct password, its not too long, has no special characters and still nothing!
ive tried adding the email address under outlook, and other..
can anyone help me?

Do you use two-factor authorization for Hotmail? Do you need a special password for use on a mobile device? Please check your documentation for Hotmail when setting up an account on a mobile device.
i do have two step verification but it hasnt given me the option to enter any additional security information.
i followed hotmails instructions and it will not let me add it under "exchange' or "outlook".
it says to use their app as a work around..but i need my contacts to transfer to my phone and it will only do so if its added to the phone itself.
gr... verizon cant help me and ive spent hours trying everything the internet as told me to do..
If I were you, I would turn off two step verification temporarily until you get it set up on the device. Then you can always turn it back on again. Maybe try that?
