Q: Hide Cloud music not on my iPhone

Hello:

 

After updating my iPhone to the latest OS, my Music collection now shows all my cloud music.  I have tried to turn off cloud music settings to no avail.  The only option that has worked was to delete all my music on my phone and turn off all cloud settings.  Once my phone synced to iTunes however, all my music was back and all the cloud music was back as well.

 

Can anyone recommend how to show ONLY the music that is physically on my phone?

Resolved:

 

After turning off iCloud Music Library in my Settings > Music, it was necessary to reboot my phone by holding down power button and home button.  Once the phone restarted, my music library now only displays the music that is physically on my phone.

    Having this problem also.  The steps mentioned here seem to have solved it for now.  I have had issues where the songs not on my phone will disappear and reappear at random times.  iCloud Music Library is off on my Mac and iPhone.  The only cloud based songs that appear are purchases I made from the iTunes store.  Annoying that they seem to reappear.  There doesn't appear to be a setting for "show all music" anymore ein iOS 8.4  Only "show apple music".  I would like to use Apple Music on my phone, but do not want to turn on iCloud Music Library due to issues I had when I first tried this.  I know that limits the functionality of Apple Music.

    Sorry to say, but only a temporary fix for me.  Songs previously purchased on iTunes showed up again.  Didn't sync, they just showed up.

    In the new Music App on the iPhone go to My Music, the Library tab, and tap the "Artists" sort menu drop down list and at the bottom there is a slider to only "Show Music Available Offline".

    I Moved the slider to only show offline music under artists and playlists. For some reason the store purchases come back. A reset of the phone will remove them but they are back in a few hours without a sync. Also iCloud music library is off.

    The answer provided does not solve this problem.

     

    The problem is that there used to be a setting to show "Only Downloaded Music".  This setting on prior versions of iOS kept another device that was connected to the iPhone from seeing the songs that were not really on the phone.  Not having this option breaks playback from other devices or results in unexpected operation.  From what I've experienced, it either causes playback of the songs not on the iPhone to fail if there is no cellular data connectivity, or it actually plays the song from the cloud, resulting in unexpected data usage.

     

    This is a bug.  It is not an issue with the device connected to the iPhone, as that device is simply given a catalog of songs by iOS that it treats as playable.  The suggestions in other threads about hiding purchases does not address this problem.  Apple needs to fix this and restore the ability to block the listing of songs that are not playable directly from the device.
