Please help me connect my PS4 to my macbook, I just cant seem to make it work...!

Ok so I have failed trying to make this work so many times I've lost count. What I am trying to do is simply use my phone to tether wifi to my macbook and connect my PS4 through ethernet to my macbook. I have shared internet, manually filled in IP:s but I cant seem to make it work. Could some kind soul please help me...!
