Storage Almost Full iPhone 5c

I get this message all the time and it doesn't let me take photos yet I have 4.5gb free on my iPhone 5c 16gb and 178gb free on my extended iCloud storage.

iPhone 5c, iOS 8.4

First of all, your iCloud storage has nothing to do with what's on your phone. Go into Settings > General > Usage and then Manage Storage. What's taking up the most space? This is where you will need to figure out how to get more space back.

Thanks for your help. I see, it's all in photo's. If I delete them are they gone? I'm a bit confused by the new photos streaming app thats replaced iPhoto? Also if there's no space on my phone why does it still say there's 4.5gb when I plug it into my iMac?

You should import your photos to your computer, just like any other digital camera, then erase them from your phone. You can sync back any photos you want to keep on the phone with iTunes.

I am not sure why your space does not match up when you plug your phone into iTunes. Maybe someone else here can weigh in.
