How can I recover a Mac OS X operating system after it had been deleted from a MacBook Pro that was stolen?

my MacBook Pro of 2012 was stolen and when I recovered it, the operating system and all files had been deleted. How can I recover them?

MacBook Pro (13-inch Mid 2012), iOS 8.1

If you did not have the files backed up then you cannot restore them without sending it to a very expensive Data Retrieval specialist. As for the OS X itself, just start up while holding down Command and R keys and reinstall the original OS X. You can update to the OS X you require from there through the App Store, as long as you have previously purchased it, otherwise you will only have a choice between the original OS X and Yosemite.

If it is a disk problem, you can go to Cmd-R during boot, and then press disk utility instead of reinstall OS X. Then find your untitled disk, press erase, make sure it is in Journaled, change the name to what you want, and then you can then have a clean new disk. Then partition it to one partition. After that, you can try to reinstall OS X again.
