Lost all Documents on iCloud Thanks Apple..

I like most Apple users have save pages and numbers documents on the ICloud. Only to my complete horror to fine they are all gone,, Yes they just vanished . Contacted Apple support after hours looking through time Machine having apple tech people and senior support people, look into resetting my iCloud, they still can't restore my documents. Apple answer Sorry just recreate them. Any one else have the same problem and poor response from Apple?
