I used to be able to copy a photo from iPhotos and do what I wanted with it...add it to a note in Evernote, paste in an email, whatever. Now I cannot find a way to do that except to drag the picture onto my desktop and then right click and I can copy it. What gives? What can you do with the Photo Library right now except sync it to your other Apple devices and look at the pictures you've added to it?

Either Share it using the available options or drag the photo to the Desktop where you can then do anything you want with it.
A little clarification first. Are you still on 10.7.2 as your profile indicates and are you attempting to copy a photo out of iPhotos or Apple's new Photos for OS X app that was released with Yosemite 10.10.3? Please be clear so we know how to answer your question.
I'm using the new app Photos v 1.0.1 and am running Yosemite. As indicated in my question, I've discovered I can drag a photo to the desktop and then copy from there but what happened to the ability to right click and copy?
