iCloud backup on slow upstream connection

MY iCloud backup wants to take 3 days for the initial backup. Is there any way to have my PC automatically do syncs then sync from the PC to iCloud so the phone isn't tied up for that long on slow DSL wifi or a suggestion for getting around this? I am considering going to a friends house with a faster connection to do my first iCloud backup because this will take so long at this rate.
