wifi issues - 2014 MBA on 10.10.4

Hi

Since updating my MBA to 10.10.4 I have started to experience wifi issues - it doesn't connect after waking and occasionally drops out. I just wondered if anybody else is experiencing these issues as I couldn't find anything by searching. If it continues I will have to reload the OS which I really don't won't to do...

Thanks

Test after taking each of the following steps that you haven't already tried. Back up all data before making any changes.

1. Make sure the network is on the preferred list by following these instructions. It's important to read the article carefully, as it's the starting point for any further efforts to solve the problem. If you skip any of the steps, the problem may not be solved. Make sure the box marked

Remember networks this computer has joined

is checked.

2. Follow the instructions in this support article under the heading

Symptom: After restarting or waking from sleep, my computer might not connect to the Internet

3. Reset the PRAM.

4. Make a note of all your settings for Wi-Fi in the Network preference pane, then delete the connection from the connection list and recreate it with the same settings. You do this by clicking the plus-sign icon below the connection list, and selecting Wi-Fi as the interface in the sheet that opens. Select Join other network from the Network Name menu, then select your network. Enter the password when prompted and save it in the keychain.

5. From the Location menu at the top of the Network preference pane, select Edit Locations. A sheet will drop down. Click the plus-sign button to create a new location. Give it any name you want. In the new location, set up the Wi-Fi service with the same settings you used before. Click Apply and test.

6. Launch the Keychain Access application. Search for and delete all AirPort network password items that refer to the network. Make a note of the password first.

7. Repair permissions on the startup volume.

8. Turn off Bluetoothand test.

9. Reset the System Management Controller.

10. This step shouldn't be necessary, but has been advised by Apple Support in some cases, apparently as a workaround for a bug. Open the Energy Saver pane in System Preferences. If applicable, click the padlock icon in the lower left corner to unlock the settings. Enter your administrator login password when prompted.

Select the Power Adapter tab and uncheck the boxes marked

Wake for Wi-Fi network access

and

Enable Power Nap...

if present. Then, if the computer is a MacBook, select the Battery tab and uncheck

Enable Power Nap...

11. Reinstall OS X.

Fellow macbook air owner. I bought an earl 2014 macbook air when they updated them during the summer, from the start I had issues with wifi drop out and not connecting after sleeping, I made several genius bar visits and have had to deal with that list above, being told to turn this and that off to fix it to no avail. IMO I shouldn't have to do anything with a new computer. On one visit there happened to be a wifi update about 2 months after buying my computer in the summer of 14, it fixed it and I had no issues under mav until I updated to Yosemite, and since then each time my computer goes to deep sleep it will not reconnect to the wifi network.

Not only have I tried to the list above and beyond that I bought the newest apple router which I had replaced by apple thinking that would fix it, same issue even had to sell the apple router since it and the macbook air seemed to have even worse issue (I have 2 apple laptops, 2 iPhones, 1 PC in the house and only my macbook air have issues), I have installed OS X fresh, I am playing phone tag with apple tech support I do have a case worker and I suggest calling up to complain about the same issue, we are not alone.

Apple I am very frustrated with you, and I have a bad taste in my mouth from my 2010 macbook air graphic card fiasico, which I appreciate you replacing my 2010 macbook air but with no long term fix I was forced to sell a computer before its built in defective graphic card went bad again, I thought a nice new macbook air would set things correct, this is my 3rd one and I was told by a manager I would get a refund but now they have backtracked on it claiming I waited too long, well your software fix did fix it for a good amount of time, I am just tired of being a beta tester to apple. When will the next software fix be out for this? Why can't we roll back drivers to mav?
