Transfer contacts from damaged phone to new phone

ii had an iPhone 5 and it iwas ran through the washing machine. I have a new iPhone 6 and need to transfer contacts from the 5

iPhone 6, iOS 5

You can transfer the contacts if any one of the following is true:

  • You backed up the old phone to iTunes on your computer
  • You backed up the old phone to iCloud
  • You enabled contact sync in Settings/iCloud on the old phone
  • You synced your contacts to a contact app on your computer, such as Windows Address Book or Mac Contacts

For the first two, just restore the backup. For the 3rd just enable contact sync in Settings/iCloud. For the last just sync with the same app using iTunes.


I forgot: if you synced contacts with gmail contacts, MS Exchange, Yahoo email, AOL email, Hotmail, Windows Live or Office 365 you can sync with those again.
