Samsung blue ray optical drive SE-506

I purchased a Samsung blue ray optical drive SE-506 and my Macbook Pro with OS 10.10.3 would not recognise it. With plenty of research I have found that Roxio Toast 12.1 does recognise the Samsung blue ray optical drive and I can now burn all DVDs up to blue ray.

Mac Pro, OS X Yosemite (10.10.3)
