After reviewing your post, it sounds like the iPad you have gets hot and is uncomfortable use. The exterior of the iPad is used to help cool the device and will occasionally feel warm to the touch and will disable some functionality to protect the interior of the device. The following article provides information about how the iPad functions in extreme temperatures and how it will protect itself by disabling functionality.
Keeping iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch within acceptable operating temperatures - Apple Support
Although warm temperatures can be normal, if you are still concerned by the temperature of the iPad, you can further isolate the issue by backing up your iPad and restoring it to factory settings to test the behavior.
Thanks for using Apple Support Communities.
Have a nice day
