I have an iMac and a MacBook Pro and would like to be able to sync my iPhone with both. Is this possible? Same account and ID. If so, what is the proper way of going about this?

Same library and account and ID. Just want to know if I can plug my iPhone into my MacBook and sync one day, and then my iMac a different day. iMac is downstairs and MacBook is upstairs.
I would say no - but you are free to try. If it does not work iTunes will come up with a message (and that is my bet) that your iPhone is currently synced to another library. Because even if the two installations of iTunes use the same Apple ID and have EXACTLY the same tracks, they are still considered two different libraries.
(And think of all the additional exercise you will get going up and down the stairs. 😉 )
