Video playback iphone 5s since update not working

Hello all, hope someone can rectify this issue.

Since updating my iphone to the newest IOS, slow motion video playback as well as some photos show a small "clock like" icon on the bottom right of the image / video.

anyone else have this problem? Some regular videos do not work either.

attached is the image. I have restarted the phone, to no avail.
