Pedometer overcounting by twice

Pedometer overcounting by twice

My iPhone six but pedometer is overcounting by at least two times. I have tried various resets and contacted Apple online help. Is there anything new on this issue

How are you carrying it? To be accurate it must be attached to your body, somewhere that it won't bounce around.

I will try it. I carry it usually in the lower pocket of my cargo shorts. When I walk, the distance seems correct in regards to the data points But later the app calculates a wrong total. On the tread mill it doubles the data point

It's probably bouncing in your pocket. You might want to try a bicep holster, or a Sena belt holster that will clip firmly to the waistband of your shorts. That's what I use, and it seems to be very accurate. (There are other belt holsters, but the Sena seems the sturdiest. And Apple owns the company.)
