I'm in Mavericks 10.9.5 on a MacBook Pro. I've seen this question but it's specifically in iOS8.
Dictation works in TextEdit and Firefox but not Pages. Simply no response. I tried quit-and-restarting Pages, tried changing the toggle control to cmd key. No response. Any ideas why Apple's own Pages in particular won't take Dictation? Thanks.
MacBook Pro, OS X Mavericks (10.9.1), 1TB int HD on 10.9.5 (not 10.9.1)
