multi-users on itunes

My father and I use the same itunes from the same laptop with seperate Apple IDs. While i was doing the regular app store updates on the phone, it requires the Apple ID of my dad not mine.so obviously i cant do any updates!! i checked the icloud and the itunes accounts on my phone and it gives me my ID normally,. Dont know what is up with the itunes store.. Kindly assist
