Recent solutions to PDF conversion issue?

I have been going around in circles trying to find a relevant, recent post about an appropriate solution for converting from .docx to .pdf that preserves formatting AND retains links. Most of the information out there relates to older software or operating systems, I've wasted hours reading about and testing different methods and trying third party software options... I've run out of time.

THE ISSUE: I'm on a deadline to send out meeting minutes and none of my links to source files within the .docx are live when I export to .pdf. I don't have time to convert to a .pages file, re-add the links and reformat the document so it looks like it should. I can't download the Beta Word 2016 preview, as I've already had it and it's expired.

Has anyone found any other solutions??
