Albums won't add to "My Music"

I started the free trial for Apple Music, and after adding a bunch of albums from the Apple Music catalogue to my library successfully, it stopped working. When I click the "+" sign on the album page, a check mark shows up, but the music doesn't add to my library, and when I go back to the album page, the "+" sign is back. Anyone know what I can do to fix it?

It looks like this "could" be related to the stupid limit of 25k songs linked to iMatch.

Basically, it seems that **anything** that you add to Your Music (apart from items bought in the store) is counted against this limit (which will be supposedly increased to 100K in the future).

The reason for this limit really is beyond me, what I can say however, is that I have experienced the same behaviour on my Mac but I only have a library of 13K songs, well below the limit.

So, I quit iTunes on Mac, turned to my iPad and tried to add albums from there. In fact, everything worked fine on iPad. meaning that I can still add albums from there BUT NOT from iTunes on Mac, so it could also be a bug for iTunes on Mac only (provided of course, you have not reached the 25k limit).

Note that all albums I have added from iPad will then be also displayed and available on iTunes on Mac.

I have the same issue as this and I only have a library of 5,887 songs. I also believed it must have been a bug with iTunes desktop on my mac having successfully added about 10 albums from apple music and really enjoying the apparent ease of click 'make available offline and new music at the click of a button' until i discovered the issue. That and half of the music that had initially synced from my iPhone without issue has vanished and the other half wont add to any playlists! I thought this was localised problem to my laptop, but on further inspection apple music created playlists made by apple that I had added with ease on my iPhone now show up blank on my phone...

I knew the software was going to have bugs but this is insane! some great features, but if they cant be resolved within the 3 month free trial then I, like many others shall be going back to other streaming services.

I'm experiencing the same issue, where songs and albums added from the Apple Music library (on my MacBook Pro) are not showing up in My Music and not syncing with my other devices (an iPhone 5, running iOS 8.4). I attempt to add an album and the following is displayed ("Unable to access your iTunes purchases. Click to retry."):

User uploaded file

I click the cloud icon, but it won't add the song to My Music. I am able to add music from my iPhone, but it will not sync back to the MacBook Pro. I called Apple Support who took me through several steps, including turning Apple Music and iCloud Library on and off, but the library on my MacBook Pro just overwrote all the music that was added from my iPhone (I selected the option to "merge" my libraries, but it definitely didn't merge them). I also previously subscribed to iTunes Match, but haven't been a subscriber since my subscription expired last year. Before I started to test Apple Music I cleared my entire library, so that I could start with just testing Apple Music, so I don't see that I could be facing the song limit.

I have a feeling this is a bug or issue with Apple Music in iTunes on OS X, which I hope will be resolved ASAP. I'm glad they aren't charging users during this free trial, but I will not be paying for this service if basic syncing and adding music to my library isn't consistent. I'm still subscribed to Spotify Premium, which I will keep for now, but this seems like a beta test that has been made public.

Same problem! If I add a song (pressing the + sign) on my iPhone, the song (or album) gets added to my library on my desktop and on my iPad, but not on my iPhone.

If I add a song or an album to My Library on my desktop, it gets added on my iPad but not on my iPhone.

I have logged out and back in to iCloud but nothing seems to work.

Any suggestions?

I called and spoke to Apple yesterday and the response was a surprise and also I feel inaccurate. She said you aren't supposed to be able to add music to playlists that you haven't purchased. This bodes the question, what the **** is the point and why would you pay any for it much less more than pandora or spotify? Can't be right especially since it works on my MacBook Air and for most people on all their devices. I'd rather it just work on my phone since that's the only one I listen to music on.

Well, I am sorry to say, that I have found the solution to my problem and it is so embarrassing, that I almost didn't want to post it. At some point, I must have selected "Show Music Available Offline", possibly before I was getting on the subway, so I could see what music I had downloaded onto my phone and could listen to it underground, and forgot to turn the setting off.

As you know, when you turn "On" "Show Music Available Offline", that is really the same thing as "Show Only Music that has been downloaded onto my phone". Any music that you "Add" to "My Music" but without actually "making it available for offline use" (meaning - download it on to your phone), will NOT show up when this setting is selected.

As soon as I turned it off, all of the music I had been adding to My Music from my desktop, ipad etc, all appeared in My Music. In other words, all the times that I was clicking on the "Add Music" button, it was being added to My Music, I just couldn't "see" it because it was set to only show Offline Music.

Thx

After talking over one hour to the very good Apple Support we have found the reason.

Itunes match and Apple Music-songs have got a limit of 25.000 songs (together) even if you pay for both!!!! So after deleting some songs from the cloud i can add a new album.

The bug is that there is no error message.

In September the limit will be 100.000 (Eddie Cue).

Confirmed,

I have also contacted the Apple Support, same reply. I had already tested that deleting albums and then add it again worked so they basicaly confirmed the 25k limit.

As correctly reminded, the limit will be extended to 100K; however, since we are on the subject would someone maybe explain (or try to understand) what is the logic behind this limit?

To me, it makes no sense at all. Why can't I add 200K albums (only from Apple Music) to my music page? After all they are simplly links to the albums on Apple Music, are they not?

Thanks
