If I delete a photo from my iPhone, will the original still be kept in the iCloud photo library?

Now that everything is synced, I am confused: I want to delete photos from my phone, but want to make sure they will be kept in the iCloud Photo Library.

iCloud Photo Library syncs all images to all devices. If you delete it on one device, it's deleted from everywhere, so leave it alone.
