iTunes 12.2 gives me an infinite pinwheel on Yosemite OSX 10.10.4.

I'm running iTunes v12.2 on Yosemite v10.10.4 on a MacBook Pro 13inch 2012 with 2.5GHz processor, 4GB RAM and 500GB storage. Every so often I get an infinite pinwheel and have to force quit iTunes and restart it again. This problem showed up only after I updated from v12.1. Any ideas on what could be causing this/potential fixes?

Same setup, same problem, especially when I try to sync my iPhone and my ipod music. Sometimes it hangs even doing basic tasks. I just noticed that it arbitrarily resets some settings in the preference window. Thank god my library is still intact since I'm not eligible for using apple music service (I have more than 25k songs). I feel sorry for everyone library gone after the update...
