Q: It appears that I cannot share from fcp to all the things I can share with iMovie. Is this intended?

Apparently iMovie will not edit 4k, or not well, and not share 4k. In all likelihood iMovie would serve my needs. So I have to go to FCP to edit 4k or UltraHD as is now the best definition of what my camera will do.

However, FCP does not have the robust sharing that iMovie does. Why do we have to choose? Why can't I share from FCP to anything that iMovie does, including iTunes, and Theater and and and.

Not sure how to answer the "why" questions, Perhaps you need to use the iMovie or FCP X feedback links.

There is a wide range of share options available in FCP X, but possibly it's missing one that is important to you. (There are certainly many options for exporting videos to one's iTunes library.)

How did you arrive at that statement? What is it that iMovie can share to that FCP cannot? Or do you mean you don't know know how to?
