Most current screen recording apps (including QT X) encode video using the H.264 (MPEG-4 AVC) codec (with AAC audio if so configured). Such H.264/AAC files should be compatible with all current Apple QT players and video editing apps like iMovie and FCP.
Thanks for your answer Jon. I realized that QT transcode and "finalize" the file when you try tô save it or export it. But do you know where (folder) it stores the file before we are asked to save it ?

This tends to depend on the specific Mac OS X version in use. For instance, under Yosemite, the MOV file is found in the current user's "Library > Containers > com.apple.QuickTimePlayerX > Data > Library > Autosave Information" folder within the "Unsaved QuickTime Player Document.qtpxcomposition" package file. However, under Lion, it can be stored in a user specified "save to" location as depicted here:
