Jul 8, 2015 5:30 PM in response to Nielby Clark's Clicks,My Mac is up to date. I found a third party app for activity monitor which helped me find my problem. Something to do with my new printer/scanner/copier was revving up the computer. I took it off and now it is working fine... I guess that I will have to reinstall every time I try to use it...
My activity monitor says, "You can't use this version of the application "Activity Monitor" with this version of OS X. You have "Activity Monitor" 10.8.0

Jul 8, 2015 5:33 PM in response to Clark's Clicksby Niel,Choose Utilities from the Finder's Go menu and open it from there. If you're already trying to open that, back up your data(as a precaution), restart with the Command and R keys held down, and reinstall the OS.
