Q: Is it possible to run both 10.5.6 and 10.10 on a Mac Pro on different drives?

Is it possible to run both 10.5.6 and 10.10 on a Mac Pro on different drives?

That's my basic question.  I wonder if it can be done or not?  My machine has 4 drive slots, so I'd be curious if it could be done.

Thanks!

Mac Pro (2009 Nehalem), Mac OS X (10.6.2), Wacom Intuos, Umax Powerlook III, Epson 2200 etc, etc, etc...

On your Mac Pro, yes, but you need to have a Mac OS X 10.5 DVD designed for that model.

Yes, you can., though you need Snow Leopard DVD to install Yosemite.

Wow... that's interesting.  I actually do have a Snow Leopard complete install disk, which I bought when Leopard changed to Snow Leopard.

I also have the original Panther and Leopard disks.

So... in theory I could put in a new HD and load Snow Leopard - then upgrade the new HD to Yosemite... and finally find out how my Mac Pro will work running photoshop on Yosemite.  I have put off any upgrades after reading the seemingly endless tales of horror from photoshop users who regret having done the upgrade.  And if Yosemite turns my photoshop into molasses - then I can just wipe the whole disk and forget about it.

I thought the answer to my question would be no because there might be all kinds of motherboard software issues or something... so thanks everyone!
